Well, I think I like the idea of a guard releasing the prisoners, and I'd like to see us go to Casteraan planet. It might be interesting...

During a massive battle between Casteraam and Grippli, a Drakon fleet arrives, fully fresh and powered. They then demand that the Grippli and Casteraan cease fighting, or they will hold both sides of the battle hostage, attempting to figure out what the heck is going on, seeing as a Vasari raiding group raided the Drakon diplomatic capital, and the Drakons have no idea ofwhat is goign on now. I don't know after...

There's no battle. It doesn't go that far...

Yes, Drakon intervention will be ideal. Then the Vasari ambush the three fleets with massive firepower, hoping to cause massive damage while everybody is in the same location.

Also, as Moint Zileth (the effective leader of the Castera'an Empire) would have probably also been in the group and therefore also held in custody, relations between the Castera'an and Grippli would have been strung tighter.

As for the prison escape, that should be plotted on the spot, as most prison escapes are. But perhaps the Cultists should get involved in the escape. Therefore when they escape to the Castera'an, the group will have a plea to let them know that it was somebody else. I can imagine what the Cultists do when they reach the group. "Thanks for taking the blame there, but I'm afraid we have to kill you now."

For the monster, we'll encounter it underground when we return to collect further samples.

After all that, as we know the cultists must have been the ones up to something, we track them down and take them out.

Okay, it's close to battle in heated negotiations that aren't going anywhere between the two fleets. Then the Drakons arrive and try to settle it out like what Shadows said. They the Vasari turn up with a massive battleship and a few other ships and wreck havok. Each faction tries fighting back, but the massive Vasari ship is just too powerful so they eventually make a retreat plan. There are massive casualties, causing the Drakon public to become even more opposed to interfering in the affairs of others, the Grippli to become permanently agitated with the Castera'an because it's 'their fault the fleets were there anyway' and the Castera'an now know first hand how dangerous the Vasari are.

Maybe in the battle the Vasari capture the ship the group is on and imprison the group, then they could be taken directly to the cult or something...

Or to the Vasari homeworld... but that would be impossible to escape from.

H'okay. So, we got Casteraan, the Grippli, Drakons and Vasari... all with ships.

They got about 2600, many more than us... whatever.

So one day, those Vasari guys decide that those'Grippli sons of b*itches are goign down.' And they launch a fleet. The Grippli are like"Sh*t guys, they sending fleet to us, attack with our sh*t."

Anyway, Drakons and Casteraan just decide to start launching fleets at each other for the heck of it, Cult is playing golf, and like "Hmm. War." Then other cult guy hits ball, and says "Whatev'."

So, now we got total war. The only thing that doens't get affected is the Space Station, and they all happy. But they'll be dead soon. Stupid a**holes...

Are the Vasari even aware of the Cult, though? And if so, what are their thoughts on them? Perhaps the ship the group is in retreats, but is then it is captured by the Cult and as it is wounded it cannot fight back. Then the group fights their way out of the Cult's base and end their operations once and for all.

Okay that's good... in that case we'd have to have it so the vasari don't know about the cult.

So it's all organised? Sounds good. Have we got the sign-up sheets, full introduction and comprehensive species descriptions ready?

Pretty much... it wouldn't hurt to put it all together and go over it one last time though...

Introductory Prequel Story Thing

Striding along the gleeming corridors of the famed Space Station Poladon, Methrey, Stationmaster, making his way towards the bridge. Stepping through the bulk-doors and into the bridge, Methrey's senses were assaulted by loud mechanical beeping, bright red flashes and all assortments of warning instruments. "What is this?" Methrey asked his Second in Command, "They are here. They've finally found us. It is time to make a final stand."

Methrey made his way through the paniking alien staff to the station-wide speaker. All across the station, every alien, every being aboard the station, all heard Methrey's announcement. "Space Station Poladon. We are at war. We advise you get in your craft and leave immediately, except for all military personnel." He stepped away from the speaker, and ordered all Drakon personnel aboard the ship to arm themselves and preapre for battle.

A dark-cloaked, hooded figure rushed into the command bridge and stood infront of Methrey. He took off his hood to reveal his green, amphibious face. He was a Frog, long time allies of the Drakons. "Methrey. No doubt you know what we now face. I'd call my own kind to aid... but... they seem to have blocked communictions... even psychic communication. You are plainly not planning to leave this system again. I shall stand and fight beside you."

The Drakon fleets prepared for battle as the planetary shields slowly turned on, covering the planet in a protective field of energy. The Space Station's shields were revved up to full power, and then came the long silence before battle. The Vasari Fleet came into view. Aboard the Station, any aliens that hadn't yet fled were now paniking more then ever before, but amidst the chaos, the Drakon Soldiers stood, tall and pround, prepared to all die at a moment's notice to save their new homeworld. The infantry counted their ammunition, while at the bridge Methrey tried in vain to find some kind of a weakness in the enemy formation, a soft spot to focus fire on.

The two fleets collided, breaking formation, giving way to chaos. Lasers, beams, plasma bursts, all flew across the battlefield, ships of both sides soon began to give way and exploded. Then, a second Vasari fleet appeared. A huge Vasari ship flew up to the Space Station, and boarded. The Drakons aboard the Station desperately fought to keep the invaders out, but were overcome as more and more enemy troops rushed forwards.

The battle passed. The Vasari retreated. The station was left severely damaged, only barely keeping in orbit. Oraacini was left a barren wasteland. An entire planet, burned, bombed, poisoned. Not only the advanced lifeforms inhabiting the planet were killed, the Frogs and Drakons, but every single lifeform on the planet. An entire ecosystem wiped out - every plant, animal, civilian...

Here's the Castera'an info.

BBeast wrote:
Castera'an

The Castera'an are a race of carnivorous equine creatures with moderately complicated physiology. They are generally peaceful, but when provoked they can be brutally efficient and merciless against their enemies. They were quick to rise and dominate their section of the galaxy.

Appearance
They are hairless and their skin is a muddy red. They have four legs, four arms, two wings, a tail and a head with a short, thick eye-stalk with two eyes on it. This eye-stalk gives them better ability to look behind and around. They generally range between 140cm to 190cm in height and 500kg to 1000kg in weight.

By their physical nature, the Castera'an are brutal hunters. Their diet consists entirely of meat, making them carnivores. They have four legs for running with and their equine form gives them excellent aerodynamics and high speed. With their wings they have the ability to glide over medium distances. They have the natural ability to just blend into the shadows, although nowadays this ability is only available to those who train it. From the end of their tails they can spray out a concentrated burst of acidic toxins. And one of their two pairs of arms are equipped with nasty claws than can tear deep into flesh.

Their other pair of arms are used for more delicate tasks, as they are equipped with soft and dexterous fingers. They use this lower pair of arms for gesturing during more peaceful or diplomatic conversations. The upper pair are more active during disputes, arguments, fights and fits of rage.

Culture
The Castera'an have always preferred to have a mixture of tactics.
Although for most of their early history the dominant method was force. However, once they reached space, they realised that friends here would last a very long time, and so would enemies if not dealt with. So they made a more diplomatic turn, allying when possible. When an enemy was encountered things were a bit shaky at first, but they eventually got their act together and nowadays they blast the enemies to smithereens ASAP.

As for the individual Castera'ans, violence and crime are discouraged and penalised, while chivalrous and honourable behaviour is encouraged. Gender equality is also promoted. Most Castera'an prefer wearing simple clothing.

Diplomacy
The Castera'ans do their best to be on friendly terms with most Empires. However, whenever they encounter an enemy they attempt to wipe it out with brutal efficiency. Below is their formal guide on discerning between friend or foe.
Laws on Inter-Empire Relationships with-in the Alliance wrote:
"If Empires in the Alliance live peacefully with one another, they will
be assisted in times of need. If an Empire fights an Empire in the
Alliance, then the antagonist will the prosecuted, rejected and/or
exterminated. If the fight is between two Alliance members, then a
guilty Empire will be decided on and appropriate action will be taken
against the guilty Empire."
They have done their best to maintain a good relationship with the Drakons, Phooka and Grippli. They are also at war with the Vasari, mainly because they attack their allies. Numerous lesser Empires are also under the protection of the Alliance.

Colonies
Strict standards have been upheld when it comes to colonising. As soon as terraforming technology became cheap enough to use in large quantities they went on a terraforming spree: Project Terra I. Later, the standards were lifted further and Project Terra II was initiated. Nowadays all Castera'an colonies are made to be self-sufficient and well armed.

Technology
The Castera'an have done their best to advance in all available technological areas, but there are some areas in which they excel. One of these areas are terraforming technologies. Due to interest in the viability of a planet for improved colonies the Castera'an have invested millions in the production of powerful, easy-to-use terraforming tools.

The Castera'an are also the owners of the most powerful force-fields in the known galaxy. These shields are incredibly difficult to crack open from the outside while the ship inside can still fire out of it. The shields also have the ability to pass through most other shields, making them excellent for boarding crafts. These effects are caused mainly by a phase effect caused by the shields, causing anything inside the field to become partially immaterial. The way these shields work are a closely guarded secret, as they were one of the most important tools in their dominance. The shields are not completely invincible, though. They may only be used for a short period of time before they must be left to cool off. They also aren't particularly cheap, and no infantry versions have yet been developed.

The Castera'an have two other powerful tools at their disposal. One is an extremely powerful planetary EMP. It is capable of disabling an entire planet's fleets and defensive systems for a few minutes. It can generally get through a lot of magnetic shielding as well.

The other is the ability to create a temporary warp gate for fleets to come through. The prototypes and earlier versions opened a warp gate to an unspecified destination, although as pirates generally came out it is believed that the pirates have technology to attract such warp gates. Recently the technology has improved when they discovered how to guide it to their own passive permanent structures. It can now be used as a sneaky, space efficient yet hugely energy consuming method of calling in a fleet to the battlefield.

As for their regular weaponry, those are pretty average. They use a mix of plasma, laser, explosive and magnetically accelerated weapons. Their missiles are quite good, though, with the ability to add more compact explosives, better steering and more advanced targeting AI. They have also managed to create and utilise particle missiles, which although less effective mean that physical missiles do not have to be carried around.

Fleets
The Castera'an keep an effective, robust space force. Although most of their ships aren't the best, they're good enough. There are several kinds of ship:

Trading and civilian vessels are made to have space for people and storage. They are generally only lightly armed, just to fend off pirates for a short while if absolutely necessary. Many of these ships have interstellar capabilities.

Small combat ships such as fighters generally don't have any better than interplanetary capabilities. But they are agile, generally armed with missiles and a gun of some sort and compact enough to fit in cargo holds. These are usually used for ship-to-ship combat and as a bit of cannon fodder.

Then there are medium combat ships. These make up the backbone of their fleets. They are useful for carrying small squadrons and patrolling. They are usually capable of short to medium interstellar distances. They are often equipped with numerous small guns, some missiles and maybe a bomb chute and heavy gun.

And of course there are the massive battleships. Measurable in kilometres, these were designed to fend off the more advanced races. It was only when they heard of the might of the Vasari that they began producing these, since before the surrounding Empires were of no threat otherwise. These ships are few, but they are powerful. They use the best technologies the Castera'an could afford to use. They have weapons to shoot everywhere around them. They often have a really heavy gun or two as well, such as a massive rail-gun. While they have plenty of room for an entire fleet, many of them also have the ability to warp a fleet to their location. The energy cost of this is massive, though, and could leave the battleship vulnerable as it recovers.

Then there are the flagships. The Castera'an have had multiples of these across their history. They have always been medium sized ships. While this may not seem good enough for what should be an Empire's prized vessel, the flagships weren't only used for war. They are also used for diplomatic, emergency response and economic activities. Most Empires aren't happy about a 5km long warship rocking up on their doorstep. The current flagship is called The Thames. It is a massive space shuttle which uses a space-bending warp-drive. It possesses many weapons, but it has a sleek elegance about it too. Combined with an elite crew, it and its EMP superpower, shields and agility have been known to conquer entire enemy home-worlds of less-advanced Empires. It is generally used to spearhead most Castera'an interstellar activities, warlike or not.

Brief History
When the Castera'an first rose to space they were branded as warriors. They made allies, moved forwards in technology but they were soon stopped by a new enemy that equalled them in might. They were locked in a stalemate unless someone made something better.

During that war the current commander of the Empire and captain of the flagship retired from old age. As he had no descendants, he passed on his responsibilities to the flagship's vigilant and skilled gunner, called Moint Zileth. The old captain had made a wise choice, as Moint was a powerful captain and using his skills he pushed the boundaries of the flagship to the limit and devastated their long-time foes. This was only the beginning of the Castera'an's rise to power.

Moint Zileth commanded fleets in many more battles, but he managed to develop even more alliances. Eventually he officially changed the branding on his Empire from a warrior to a diplomat. Using the title wisely the Castera'an became even more powerful.

They then met the other empirical superpowers of the Galaxy- the Grippli, Drakons and Phooka. They made sure that they became allies, as these Empires were many times more powerful than the ones encountered before. Through their alliance, they met the Vasari, who were enemies from the beginning.

Nowadays the Castera'an have strong diplomatic ties with the Drakons, Grippli and Phooka. They also have sophisticated technology and arguably the most liveable Empire in the known Universe.

Sounds good,

I must apologise to Legion for losing commitement to the previous two itterations of this game,If this is made I will try and commit to it, however I may be too wrapped up in other thing at the Time.

Thanks for adding the Phooka into the Race list, are we allowed to submit other races for this or no?

Ah, I see now, can you give me some time to write the lore of the Phooka and there technologies. I picture the Phooka as being similar to a darker version of the knight archetype from Spore, with members of there race ready to reinstate their empire to the height of power in the universe. Whatever the cost

I picture them as a wildcard race, sometimes making great allies, though just as often stabbing them in the back. Oh, and they will all have accents from across the Uk.
Also, would it be alright if the Mikilo made a cameo, not as a playable race, but maybe mentioned as another race descended from Terran stock? Pweeeeeeeease?

I have some themes in mind for the Phooka, The first is "First Wave" by Trocadero, and the second is "(when) Your middle name is danger" by the same band, another that would be good is "Nightmare(again)" by Trocadero also. I will provide links ASAP

I suppose you could submit other races but they would be minor and most likely non-playable. For example the race that revolts against the Grippli

Aren't the Phooka the Mikilo anyway, just a different name?

Oh, and we need to find somewhere in the plot where they fit.

Mikilo are Blue, Six Flippered Penguins and my main Race, Phooka are more of a Mechanic to make sure the Sizzzz-Shling didn't abuse the Powers of E-DNA, similar to Nw.

Also, speaking of the Sizzz-Shling, Whilst reading through posts I noticed Legion's one about the Sizzz-Shling giving the Drakons technology of a high level, this seems strange to me for several reasons;
1: The Sizzz-Shling only exist in one out of Countless parralell realities, as was explained by the Humans on Page 220-something of LATG
2: The Sizzz-Shling still hardly trust the Mikilo and the Late Olupuns with their Technology as things are, I doubt they would trade such a valuable tech for some Metals and little else.
3: The Sizzz-Shling aren't the Nice guys they pretend to be, Just like the Phooka they are out for themselves, and wont hesitate to backstab their Allies if it proves good for them, they wouldn't trade the Drakons such a valuable tech. The Sizzz-Shling are also paranoid and need to feel stronger than everyone else due to their odd Mongrel genes.(About the Backstabbing Legion, This is true, They have allready assured that the LATG Drakons and Frogs are Doomed, though this will be explained by them or perhaps what remains of the Mikilo in a later plot, also they have on a regular basis kidnapped Chickilo (Mikilo Chicks) to test new weapons on (This was long ago though, and was how they invented the weapon that destroyed their home galaxy)

Phew, If you can provide a Counter argument then feel free to do so, maybe the Sizzz-Shling are different in this Reality?

Here are the Links to the Phooka themes;

And remember, In the Words of Dr. Leonard Church;

Quote :

"And while the law has many penalties for the atrocities we
inflict on others, there are no punishments for the terrors we inflict
on ourselves.
So you send your men. They won't find themselves a fight. They'll
only find an old man. And old man tired, but satisfied that he did his
duty. An old man weary from a mind more filled with memory than it is
with hope.
Sincerely yours, the former director of Project Freelancer,
Dr. Leonard Church"

^ This should sound familiar if you have heard "First Wave" before

PS:
For the Roles of the Phooka in a Plot, I was thinking that perhaps we could travel to a Phooka world for one part, given that it would be pretty alien to all the Other Empires. The Phooka live in huge Mobile Treeforts and their Spacecraft are similar (Ever seen the Anime "Laputa, Castle In the Sky"?)

Yeah, I know It's just that Legion posted about them earlier

Phooka Info time!

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td colspan="2"><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" width="90%"><tr><td class="quote">Phooka

The Phooka are a Race of Feline Simians with a strong Military history and Ancestral ideals of Chivalry. Behind a Thin layer of fine dress and Chivalry the Phooka harbour dark motive always ready to do what is best for theirown people.

Appearance
The Phooka are Tall Mammilian creatures, their bodies are entirely covered in a long, thick layer of fur , except for the two antenna that grow from their foreheads. The Phooka possess Four arms, all powerful and lean, and one pair of powerfull legs, one of the more Bestial traits of the Phooka is that when running they forgo the use of their arms and use them as four extra legs.

The Phooka are well adapted opportunists, feeding on the finest of whatever they can get, this trait has reached even into their Empirical minds, leading the Phooka to exploit resources quickly, to prevent other nations from doing the same. The Phooka are also aided by their long, dexterous body similar to that of a weasle or Stoat, albiet with a longer tail.

The Phooka are a dexterous race, skilled with music, poetry and mimicry of other races. The Phooka also have amazing senses, all of which aid them in their natural calling, and make them feared across the Universe as Wild warriors with an affinity for Stealth

Culture
The Phooka have a rich and ancient culture

Most of the Culture of the Phooka is hereldic and based upon clans, chivalry and loyalty to their own people. Phooka Assassins would rather give their targets notice that they were being hunted down to even the playing feild, however they are not idiots either.

The Phooka also have a rich history of preserving Nature, most of their worlds are very alien in the fact that no Buildings exist on the surface, the Phooka dwell in mobile Tree fortressess and travel space in similar devices. The Phooka are picky over their planets, only settling the Cream of the crop, this places them as a smaller empire, although they are one to be feared.

The Phooka wear extravagant clothing made from only natural materials, this also goes for their battle armour, bred from a special type of Bark that can resist high pressure and damage.

The Phooka Culture is headed by a "Child of Nature" who is Chosen by several of the most powerful Phooka Clans, this "Child" then becomes a pope and heads the Clan Kings of the Phooka.

Diplomacy
The Phooka, when resorting to diplomacy decide on a set of criteria first before making judgement on an empire
<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" width="90%"><tr><td>Phooka Empirical Judgements:</td></tr><tr><td class="quote">"Are these people a threat to the Phooka/Will they become a threat to the Phooka?"
"Is the existance of these people beneficial to the Phooka/ Will it become beneficial to the Phooka?"
"Is the Culture of the people worth investigating/ preserving"
"Does this race have Technology/Resources we desire?"
"Does this Race treat it's planets fairly, have they caused any large scale Biological Disasters?"
"Is this Race Chivalrous?."
</td></tr></table>
The Phooka then way up the answers to these questions and decide what to do with the Empire, every year the questions are renewed and the Phooka decide what to do with race again, this makes them highly unpredictable allies.

The Phooka are currently in Good relations with the Grippli, Drakons and Castar'an, as well as several smaller empires.

Colonies
Phooka Colonies are all widely vibrant and colourful, their colonies are above all though natural. The Phooka use Specially designed animals and plants for the defence of their Colonies, which are all made to pass a test known as a "The Joust" before being submitted.

Technology
The Phooka have reasonable advanced tech in most areas, however like every empire they excell in certain specialist areas such as Personal Weaponry, Stealth tech, BioTech and Sheilding.

Phooka ships are all armed with medium Grade missiles, Laser turrets, Pulse Turrets and Bombs. However it is not in attack, but in defence that the Phooka excell, and this is shown in the fact that each of their ships has the capacity to repulse Enemy Laser/Pulse weaponry for some time, and their EMP technology that ensures that the Phooka can ruin an enemie's fleet and then have a Mop up Fleet come in to finish the Job.

Phooka Ships are also all equiped with powerfull cloaking technology that renders them undetectable on all but the best radars, and invisible to the eye. If the Phooka feel in danger they can also cloak their colonies in an attempt to save them.

The Phooka really shine in Ground combat, deploying their Prime soldiers known as "Knights of the Green Order" who are not only equipped with Basic soldier technology, but also with toned down Spaceship technology such as repulsion sheilds. The Phooka ground forces mainly use Melee weapons, such as Katanas but occasionally use Energy Boomarangs and the like. If the Phooka begin to lose a ground battle, they can reengineer the plant and animal life of a planet to destroy cities for them.

True, but they(on LATG) did give me advanced Engine technology when I traded in ONE of the formulas for platinite. By the way

I much prefer Alpha, however so far in Season 9, Church feels a lot more like the original Alpha, maybe that is because they are back in Blood gulch, I don't know.

What do you think of Season 9 so far, I'm happy Simmons hasnt changed, and Its good that the red team are getting back to normal but so far it hasn't been as funny as it could have been. Also the Freelancer sections were quite epic.

Who is your favorite freelancer/ RvB charecter, mine would have to be Either Wyoming or Washington for the Freelancer, and Simmons for the RvB overall charecter
